DVD New Releases

Two gems are now out on DVD that may escape the mainstream. Do yourself a favor and check them out. First up is “Wrecked” starring Adrien Brody. A compelling story that finds Brody as a man awakening in a car wreck with amnesia. What unfolds next is a struggle for survival and a battle to remember who he is. As clues appear and he battles for his sanity things become both clearer and more obscured. With a nice twist in the third act, this film is well worth exploring. It’s clear Adrien Brody’s career is on the rise again.

Up next is one of my favorites from the 2010 Sundance film festival, “Skateland.” Set in Texas in the early 1980’s, this film captures the end of an era both from the perspective of a family and a generation in transition. With a great cast including Ashley Greene, Shiloh Fernandez and Heath Freeman, the film captures a fleeting moment in time. With it’s excellent soundtrack, it’s a great trip back in time.
